My Approach to Helping
Ready for a change? I am here to support you in becoming your best self. I approach counseling with a passion for helping individuals to identify and utilize their innate strengths, talents, and skills. My treatment philosophy is based strongly upon the work of existentialist Viktor Frankl and the belief that life has meaning in even the most difficult of circumstances. I seek to help clients find their meaning by using concrete skill based interventions to empower them. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, as well as Gestalt, Family Systems, strength based and creative interventions to enhance my work. I offer convenient and flexible therapy options, including in-office, walk and talk, and telehealth services.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Reaching out and asking for help is never an easy task, but often times we cannot move forward until we have admitted to ourselves that we need support. There is no weakness in asking for help, but it does take a lot of strength to do so. I understand that coming to see a therapist for the first time can be an intimidating experience, feel free to call or email me if you have any questions regarding what to expect, or any other questions which may help you determine if therapy is right for you.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Research has shown consistently that the number one factor for therapeutic success is the relationship you have with your therapist. I believe that in addition to finding a therapist with the education and specialization you need, it is also important to identify a therapist whom you feel comfortable working with. Just like everyone else, therapists comes in all different styles and personalities, we cannot be everything to everyone. As such if you feel like your relationship with your therapist isn't what you want, don't be afraid to communicate this - it can be a great therapeutic opportunity.
