My Approach to Helping
People usually find me because they are in emotional pain and want some relief. Under my care, you will find a safe place to explore your current challenges and express yourself. I will walk beside you as you find your way to the other side of the pain or questions for which you seek counseling. There are many tools I have, and I could list them here, but the main thing is that you know you have a space where you are understood and validated. A place where you can learn to navigate your life with joy and happiness, where you can shed fears and find your inner strength. Whether you are seeking individual help with anxiety, grief, trauma, or addiction; or if you find yourself in a relationship that seems to be painful, I have tools and over 25 years of experience to be able to help you.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy can help people of all ages live happier, healthier and more productive lives. How?
In psychotherapy, psychologists apply scientifically validated procedures to help people develop healthier, more effective habits. For example, you may have heard of some intervention based therapies like cognitive behavioral or interpersonal therapy.
Psychotherapy is grounded in dialogue and it provides a supportive environment that allows you to talk openly with someone who?s trained, objective, neutral and nonjudgmental. It is an opportunity to work together to identify and change the thought and behavior patterns that are keeping you from feeling your best.
When you are ready to fly from the nest of therapy, you will not only have solved the problem that brought you in, but you?will have learned new skills so you can better cope with whatever challenges arise in the future.
