My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed psychologist with an office in the Back Bay, though currently I am conducting all therapy sessions through a secure telehealth platform. I offer individual psychotherapy to adults with a range of goals. I help my clients:
- Develop insight about their patterns. For example, characteristic ways of dealing with stress, engaging in relationships, and maintaining motivation.
- Create healthy and intentional responses to stress at work or in family life.
- Navigate difficult transitions, such as divorce, loss, pregnancy, job change, relocation.
- Understand complex family dynamics and histories.
- Recognize and manage anxiety and depression.
- Clarify values and align their goals accordingly.
I draw on several therapy approaches for developing coping skills (CBT, ACT), as well as psychodynamic theory for gaining insight into underlying patterns. Before entering private practice, I trained and worked within the area's major teaching institutions and hospitals, where care is focused on the most effective means of improving behavioral health.
