My approach is a combination of intuitive listening and research-based methodologies that help you bring awareness to your experience, detect and understand patterns in your behavior, set intentions for the life you want, and effectively move into action toward your goals. I provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for you to explore what is holding you back from making the changes you want in your life.
The presence I bring to our work is warm, thoughtful, compassionate, containing, and fully invested in your transformation. I also have the clinical ingenuity to evoke something unexpected, meaningful and enlivening for you. One of the most helpful aspects of any growth process is when someone can help you see yourself in a new light, apart from the negative stories you may be telling yourself. I like working with people who can be curious about their internal patterns and how that is shaping their experience.

More Info About My Practice

I am a coach and a psychologist. The work I do brings together deep clinical knowledge and experience, with a goal-directed and interactive approach. In addition to healing, I offer my clients tools to experience more expansiveness, creativity, and a greater capacity to find fulfillment in all areas of their life.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

Unfortunately, this is a story that I hear often. People who are seeking therapy, especially for the first time, often do not know what to expect. Because of this, they end up staying in a therapy that is not a good fit for them. Whereas a person might trust themselves in selecting a physician or dentist or even a personal trainer, people feel ill-equipped to choose a therapist. I oftentimes recommend that people "shop around" a bit, even if that means paying for a few first sessions and having to tell their story more than once. Good therapy should feel relieving and helpful (even if it also involves painful feelings).

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Addressing concerns is one of the key factors in a good therapy. I help clients build this kind of trust during our sessions (and in their own process outside of sessions) by accessing feelings in a slow and controlled way, and identifying how they know they are safe. I teach people to use resources, both internal and external, to tolerate and transform the feelings. This is oftentimes one of the most relieving and empowering aspects of therapy.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The client-therapist relationship is the main building block for a good therapy. Sadly, sometimes this relationship is the first time that a person has felt heard, understood and respected in their life. This alone can be transformative.
My clients can expect warmth and compassion from me. I will be an active participant in your therapy, listening closely, asking questions and sharing insights to guide you toward the answers and changes you are seeking.
