My Approach to Helping

Are you overwhelmed or struggling? Are you feeling lost or stuck? Are your relationships strained? It takes strength to acknowledge something in your life just isn't working, and courage to embark on a journey of self-discovery & personal growth. I help diverse adults facing various difficulties (e.g., crisis (i.e., Covid-related challenges), interpersonal trauma & abuse, anxiety, depression, addiction, low self-esteem, grief & loss, relationship issues, difficult family dynamics, health challenges (e.g., chronic illness & pain), work & school stress—find healthy ways to cope in the immediate present & make positive and lasting change.

I have worked at Women's College Hospital & the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health for the past 13 years. I have extensive experience incorporating elements of evidence based treatments (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, relational therapy, staged trauma therapy) to help meet your unique needs & goals.

I aim to provide expert and thoughtful guidance & insight, while empowering you to take meaningful steps towards greater self-worth, present-mindedness, healthier & deeper relationships, resiliency to navigate change, and conscious living—so you can grow and flourish during and beyond therapy.

As an integrative therapist I draw from several evidence-based treatment approaches to meet your unique characteristics, preferences, needs and goals. I know one treatment doesn’t work for all individuals, problems, and contexts. Also, I look at the ‘whole’ person. This means I seek to promote wellness in all areas of life - physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, social, and spiritual, while attempting to help you understand and address how issues in one aspect can lead to concerns in other areas. In short, ‘Integrative Psychotherapy’ allows me to be flexible, inclusive, and holistic.

My practice is strength based, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, LBGTQ+ supportive, and anti-oppressive.
