My Approach to Helping
We all struggle and need support in times of life, and asking for that help can be hard to do. You should feel proud of yourself for taking this first step by looking for that support!
My passion has always been to provide that kind of support to individuals, couples, and families in their times of need, and I have made a career out of doing so. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience in the mental health and social services fields. Through my journey, I have worked with clients with a variety of diagnoses, including anxiety, depression, mood disturbances, personality diagnoses, addiction, and trauma.
In my therapeutic practice, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy techniques since I am a firm believer that our thoughts become our beliefs, and our beliefs determine how we view and interact with the world and others. Through this approach, I assist clients with creating healthier thinking patterns and developing more maladaptive coping skills to manage emotions and distress more positively. My therapeutic orientation also incorporates a psychodynamic approach by guiding my clients through the exploration of determining the root of their negative thoughts and beliefs that are preventing them from living their best life.
I always say that finding the right therapist is like finding shoes because it's not a one-size-fits-all process. Therefore, I invite you to reach out today to see if I am the "right fit" for you!
