My Approach to Helping
As a Psychologist, I can help identify and address both the thoughts and feelings that drive you on a daily basis, as well as past events that continue to influence your moods and behaviors today. As you gain insight into your own negative beliefs and criticisms, you can increase your level of acceptance, peace, and happiness, as well as relieve some of the stress and resentment that have built up over the years.
I utilize a combination of techniques, including Dialectical and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (DBT; CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness Training, among others. Furthermore, my therapy dog, Sienna, will help you heal through pet therapy (arrangements can be made if there is a fear of dogs or allergies).
Therapy is conducted in a non-judgmental setting filled with support and acceptance. I also am an advocate of utilizing an integrated approach that focuses on communication among other professionals involved in your care and treatment.
