My Approach to Helping
It can feel overwhelming to find the time and energy to take care of yourself and prioritize mental health. Parents, guardians, children, adolescents, and teachers are (a) struggling to navigate an ever-evolving educational climate; (b) grieving the loss of social interactions and activities; and (c) attempting to balance work life. Neurodivergent children and adolescents - and their caregivers - are faced with additional barriers. Mothers, in particular, are tasked with holding things together. If any of these concerns seem familiar, let's collaborate to process your emotions, enhance your strengths, and develop new strategies.
As a former school counselor and administrator, I employ a holistic and ecological-systems approach in my work with clients. I understand how the school system functions. School and work stress can pervade all facets of life. I offer individual and small group counseling for emerging adolescents, adolescents, parents, guardians, educators, and fellow counselors. I also offer clinical supervision for school counselors who seek licensure.
As a mother, educator, and clinician, I am sensitive to the challenges that you are facing. What may feel insurmountable can be addressed. If you are looking for a safe space to explore your needs and options, please feel free to contact me via phone or email to schedule a consultation.
Be sure to make a list of questions for me. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is critical and potential clients should feel free to interview me to ensure a good fit.
