My Approach to Helping
Traumatic events are painful and often result in wounds that can't be seen. I believe that understanding trauma and how a trauma has affected you is the first step in the healing process.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults - those who have experienced trauma and those who may be struggling with stress, anxiety or depression. My goal is to provide a safe haven for healing in a healthy yet fun therapeutic environment. I believe that walking through the therapeutic experience together is the key to healing. I strive to do this by using a variety of developmentally appropriate treatment methods. I meet you where you are right now, and we work together to find the right treatment method for you.
I believe that parents play an integral role in their child's therapy experience. Parents may find that despite their best efforts to maintain healthy, nurturing relationships with their children, damage to parent-child bonds often occur as children struggle. While working with the child, I also work with parents to help find ways the family can heal together. I use both integrative parenting and restorative parenting models.
