My Approach to Helping
Although I never joined the military, I have a passion for helping our military and veterans because of my family background and prior job experience. I want to serve those men and women - as well as their partners and families - who have served our country by helping them work through their unique struggles and situations. While this population is my main focus, I want to help whoever walks through my office door - whether you're an individual with anxiety or a couple that needs help reconnecting. I also offer Christian counseling to those clients that desire a faith-based approach to therapy.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to be a collaborator. I don't want to dictate how to live your life, but instead guide you in order to help you move forward. I want to provide a safe and welcoming place for you, where you can feel comfortable to talk about what's going on. My goal is to help you reach your goals! I want to encourage you throughout the process.
On the Fence About Going to Therapy?
Mental health does not have to be a stigma! It's okay to ask for help if you have an issue. You don't have to be dealing with a severe mental disorder in order to benefit from therapy. Sometimes it can be a short-term process, depending on the issue! And remember, there is no obligation to attend for a certain number of sessions. While I'd recommend you give it at least a few sessions to see if we're a good fit, please consider scheduling an appointment to give it a try!
