I believe in the wisdom and intuition of the body/mind as a guide to change. As a humanistic therapist, sessions are focused on discovering self-motivation and the internal drive to unlock what is hindering psychological and emotional growth in personal relationships with self and other. Happiness is defined as the recognition that the only control we have in life is what we allow into our reality. Therapy ought to be a place of wondering about and confronting our reality as we shift perspectives that no longer serve us while keeping those that do.
I also believe in creating an environment of non-judgment and collaboration. As an artist, I seek to provide comfort as a foundation to engage in your own personal creative process in therapy without shame or self-doubt. Therapy is vulnerable, authentic, raw and often challenging. All the while being exciting and enriching as the road to discovery opens new possibilities.

More Info About My Practice

I am trained in Level I Sensorimotor Psychotherapy for mindfulness and trauma-informed work. I am also trained in movement analysis providing opportunity to explore movement patterns and how these patterns are associated with personal cultural identities. I have worked extensively with addictions and shame and have researched the role of oppression in the body as it relates to internalized marginalization of self.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I've always been an avid reader of mysteries. Patiently listening and guiding personal narratives fulfills a passion to collaborate in the discovery of the unknown. Life is so like a mystery and yet we approach obstacles so pragmatically wanting nothing more than to fix the situation or ourselves. What I love about being a psychotherapist is letting go of thinking we have to fix anything and, instead, sitting together in acceptance of self and the creation of an internal sense of self who is more compassionate and willing to understand rather than fix.
