Billing and Insurance

I don't currently accept insurance, but I can provide documentation if clients wish to submit to an insurance company for "out of network" benefit coverage

Fees: Free fifteen-minute initial consultation to determine if we are a good fit. Sliding scale contingent on submitting documentation (Social Security Award Letter, Medicaid Eligibility Letter, Food Stamps Eligibility Letter, or most recent Tax Return).

My sliding scale fee structure is as follows: individuals in receipt of state or federal benefits, or individuals whose earnings put them in a category of extremely low income, will pay no more than 10% of their monthly take-home income for one month's worth of weekly therapy. Thus if you earn $735/month through SSI, I will charge no more than $73.5/month for one weekly session of therapy of 30 to 45minutes if you are paying 100% out of pocket. This affords you an opportunity to sort out your benefits as needed, and also allows for individuals without health insurance to obtain quality services. If you have no monthly income then I will do my best to accommodate to support continuity of care but cannot make guarantees.

I find what works best for most people is therapy that includes a few key elements: collaboration, intersectionality, adaptation, and behavioral change.

"Collaboration" means that we're on this journey together, and that your input is critical in every treatment decision and choice - and that I affirm the values of consent and transparency.

"Intersectionality" means that I value that I look at each person as a complex collection of identities - everyone has a lot of pieces that go into how we see ourselves, and sometimes these things can contradict each other!

"Adaption" means that we prioritize treatment methods based on your preferences and interests, and select new strategies based on the changes you experience over time.

"Behavioral" means that I believe the things we do are rooted in what historically has reinforced us and that we can change any behavior through methods of reinforcement.

In working with me as a therapist, you can expect the following:
a) A focus on skill-building
b) Homework assignments (this is important to practice generalizing your new skills)
c) A positive attitude that is oriented towards helping you find the motivation to change
d) A regular routine and firm commitment to transparency
e) A rigorous scientific approach to tracking (and modifying) your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors
f) Sincere curiosity and earnest interest in your well-being
g) A unique interdisciplinary perspective oriented towards helping you find your own answers and solutions
