My Approach to Helping

I have been working with individuals of all ages (adultsteenagerschildren) for 15 years and am skilled in using a variety of therapeutic modalities, including EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy for trauma, to help clients identify and remove barriers in their lives to affect positive change.

I believe we all have the ability to transform our lives at any time and view therapy as an opportunity gain further insight into ourselves, improve our relationships, to heal from trauma and distressing past experiences, and to expand upon our potential. I bring a warm, authentic, and supportive presence to my relationship with clients. I am non-judgmental and compassionate. I aim to support individuals, families, and couples in increasing their ability to cope and improve their quality of life. I have extensive experience working with individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief and loss, relationship issues, chronic health conditions, and individuals who are feeling 'stuck' or 'lost' in their lives. I also have a heartfelt interest in working with individuals and couples impacted by infertility. I am a member of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society and Fertility Matters Canada.

If you would to book an initial session, please contact me via email: Kirsten@amethysttherapy.ca or via telephone: (587) 881-4387 ext. 0. Virtual therapy sessions are available to individuals residing throughout Alberta.
