My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. I graduated from the University of Tennessee @ Chattanooga with my master's degree in Community Counseling in 2006 and received my license in 2012. I've worked in numerous settings and with a variety of clients including children and teens, families, crisis intervention and stabilization, community mental health, and private practice. Currently, I primarily work with the adolescent and adult populations dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression, relationships, and trauma.
I enjoy using a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy with my clients in order to assist them with understanding how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. Changing our thoughts and the way we process things has a great effect on our motivation and the way we move through our daily lives. I love working with clients on reframing those negative or irrational thoughts and gaining an understanding of how those thoughts have influenced their actions. All in an effort to develop healthier thinking patterns and behaviors. I look forward to working with you and helping you discover (or rediscover) your best self!
