My Approach to Helping
Kim’s counseling style is direct, compassionate and interactive. In a holistic and integrative approach, she utilizes a variety of therapeutic interventions. Kim ensures that clients feel understood, secure, and supported as they take risks beyond their comfort zone to address the challenges getting in their way.
Kim obtained her MSW from the University of Maryland School of Social Work in Baltimore in 1991. In addition, Kim attained a clinical subspecialization in Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) as part of her Master’s Degree. This program is internationally recognized as the largest clinical graduate social work program in the world, preparing social workers in the prevention of psychosocial dysfunction of individuals in the workplace.
Throughout over 27 years of experience, Kim trained and worked in and across a variety of settings. Kim keeps informed of current techniques, theory, and research in order to best serve and deliver the most culturally competent clinical services.
