My Approach to Helping

I am continually awed by our capacity for healing and growth, and I consider it my privilege to provide a safe place for this compelling work. I am ever cognizant of the sanctity of this mission, and seek to create a therapeutic relationship grounded in mutual respect and collaboration---so that you may discover your own power to heal. "We are stronger than we know."

I have worked successfully with clients across all age groups, providing couples, family, and individual therapy. Issues have included anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and interpersonal conflict. (Please see Client Concerns on the right for a more comprehensive list.) I ALSO SPECIALIZE IN THE TREATMENT of trauma and dissociative disorders and have experience working with attachment and adoption trauma; combat trauma; and sexual and ritual abuse. Finally, I offer concise and comprehensive psychological evaluations and recommendations (including forensic).

I began working with children, adolescents, and their families IN 1998, providing therapy and assessment in ED school and residential facilities; as well as the DC juvenile justice and PG foster care systems. In private practice, my commitment to continued education and ever-evolving professional expertise has continued. I am particularly committed to understanding and treating children and adults dealing with trauma and dissociation.

While I do not work directly with insurance panels, I provide an invoice containing all necessary information for you to obtain reimbursement. My fees start at $175 per 50-minute session, though I offer a sliding scale for clients who can demonstrate financial need. Please don't hesitate to call me at (703) 283-4153 if you have questions or would like to schedule an appointment.
