It's your career. And it may not be going the way you want it to go. Trying to juggle work, family, and life is hard enough without also dealing with an illness, depression, or even people's comments when you focus on self-care.

Or you may be the parent of a student living with autism, AD/HD, a learning disability, or mental health issues and you wonder what the future may look like. You may think, "How will I prepare my son (or daughter)?"

It can be frustrating to try so hard. You may be feeling as though you are not able to balance things anymore. It can seem overwhelming to balance work and your own care. And work or school may be winning out too often. Or, you may be thinking, "Can I still do this?"

You put in so many applications and you're not seeing the results you want. Only a few callbacks and interviews and you are still waiting for the offer you feel you deserve. You have the qualifications but you aren't getting an opportunity to prove yourself.

We work together to get a current idea of what is going on in your life - family, career, spiritual, education, health, and other areas - to develop a plan. I listen carefully while you discuss the difficulties and successes you have had. We take those strengths and build on that so you have the information you need to make informed decisions.

We may ask each other tough questions. We may also cry and laugh together. But our goal is for you to find a way to meet your goals at a pace that works for you. If we need to, we discuss what strategies you may need to exit the 9-5 day and get the resources you need to live well.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Professionals living with disabilities may struggle with moving their career forward or even enter their career field. I team up with you to develop a plan to grow your career and monitor your progress with you.

I also work with parents of students who have disabilities to plan for the future and overcome current roadblock so that they can move forward.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Sometimes, we wonder if we are going to get through our current circumstances. Getting through it alone is hard.

In therapy, I support you while you sort out what is going on. While you may have managed by yourself before, stress takes its toll on your health and your family. Without help, you may even feel like you are going backwards. I know there were times I would not have made it without my therapist!

Telling me your story in a safe environment can be the first step to getting to the happier you!
