Are you at your wit's end with your child's behavior problems? Concerned about your child's depression? Struggling with depression or anxiety of your own? Whether your child is getting in trouble or feeling troubled, I can help! . I've been working with children, adolescents and adults for over twenty years. I specialize with ADHD, anxiety, depression and infertility. I don't know whether it was nature (my mom is a therapist) or nurture (growing up, I was always the friend that people confide in) but I'm pretty sure I was destined to be a therapist. When I first entered the field, I worked with victims of domestic violence and later, the perpetrators of domestic violence. I went on to work at a residential substance abuse facility. While I was treating these adults I learned pretty quickly that most of them had experienced pain and trauma as children that had never been addressed which greatly influenced many of the choices they made as adults. It was then that I decided I wanted to work with children, hoping that I would have a chance to help children heal when the wounds occurred. I continue to work with adults as well, but refer my couples out to professionals who specialize in couples counseling.

More Info About My Practice

I'm only five feet tall and look younger than I am so this usually helps me connect pretty well with children and adolescents. I've been told that I'm easy to talk to, that I'm warm and approachable, and that I'm real. I'm not afraid to call out my clients out if I notice that they are engaging in unhealthy patterns or behaviors (in a gentle way of course). My clients tell me they appreciate this about me, as they don't just want someone who simply listens and nods. I try to use humor in sessions as well- I believe there is a place for both laughter and tears in sessions.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

I struggled to build my family for nearly five years, so I know all too well how painful, stressful and consuming struggling to conceive can be. As a therapist who has been in your shoes, it is my hope to help you feel empowered, supported and understood as you cope with your fertility challenges.

Finding the right therapist to help you navigate the roller coaster of infertility is crucial. Many therapists say they work with infertility, but not all truly understand reproductive medicine. I sought help from several different providers at different points throughout my own journey. I remember feeling really frustrated having to spend valuable session time explaining the differences between IUI and IVF, ICSI and FET. Not only do I understand all the plethora of acronyms that come with trying to conceive, I also understand what it feels like to have to make decisions about whether to use them and what it feels like if you do. My hope is to use my professional and personal experience to help empower you in a time when you feel so powerless.
