My Approach to Helping

As a holistic psychotherapist and lifehealth coach, I can provide an effective alternative. When you hire me to help you reach your goals and dreams, overcome your blocks, and realize true happiness and success, you are getting the best of both worlds. I'm both a a highly trained licensed professional who is adept at using both traditional psychotherapy as well as adapting holistic, natural methods of healing to the therapy space, creating a powerful and lasting mind-body-spirit healing experience for you. Rather than push diagnoses and medications on people, I trust in the mind's ability to heal itself with natural and holistic methods, given the proper guidance, encouragement, hope and support.

As well as being a traditionally trained psychotherapist, I'm also a certified holistic health coach, one of the few internationally certified EMDR trauma therapists in the area, a certified TFT energy tapping practitioner, a certified HeartMath facilitator, a certified traditional naturopath, a certified yoga and Tai Chi teacher, and a spiritual Interfaith Minister. All of these modalities are verified by research as highly effective evidence-based practices for improving mental (and physical) health issues. I bring elements of all of these modalities into treatment where appropriate and per your interest. I focus on healing the whole person rather than on just specific issues intend to widen the scope of the session to deal with the body and spirit as well as the mind. I typically add a holistic wellness assessment to the typical mental health screening near intake. I typically like to discuss how dietnutrition, supplements, exerciserestsleep, relationships, spirituality, and work affect your mental health and how feeling better usually means looking at all of these areas. Sessions, though mostly indoors in a traditional office setting, have also occurred on walking trails and over Skype and have included instruction in meditation, guided imagery, hypnosis, energy tapping, EMDR holistic trauma therapy, HeartMath, discussion of naturopathic remedies and perspectives on healing the whole self, nutritiondietsupplements, yoga, and taiqiqigong.
