My Approach to Helping
It's no mystery that stress can be detrimental to one's mental and physical health. I assist clients to overcome physical ailments that are originally rooted in stress and anxiety. Therapy not only offers opportunities to relieve symptoms of distress and to recover from maladaptive patterns of functioning, but it offers chances for new beginnings. Taking the first step towards change is not an easy one, but a courageous one. Change is possible. Anyone is capable of change given the opportunity and motivation to do so.
Many people yearn to be understood on a deeper level--and are also in need of more immediate relief. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral therapy and Mindfulness-based Cognitive therapy, which pays attention to lifelong relational and emotional patterns, and also have years of experience helping others find short-term solutions for times they are feeling overwhelmed. This may include feelings of depression, anxiety, grief, stress, and relational conflicts.
Early experiences shape us and define our relationship to ourselves, to others and our world around us. Change occurs through self-discovery, curiosity, courage and within a safe and therapeutic relationship. This helps build self-confidence and self-acceptance; allowing the individual to live a life of wholeness and joy.

Mindfulness Counseling was built on the tenets to Support, Teach, and Promote.
We support the client's emotional experience and their physical sensations. We teach the clients non-judgmental exploration and discovery to identify unhealthy behaviors and schemas. We promote awareness, growth, self-worth and overall well-being.
We offer individuals and couples a safe environment to begin this exploration for long-lasting change. Our counseling and psychotherapy are rooted in the fields of Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt therapy, and Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy.
