The most important aspect of the therapeutic process is the relationship between therapist and client. Therefore, the fit between therapist and client is critical. Once it's established that a client feels comfortable working with one of our therapists, we work hard to always help them feel safe and at ease in the office. We use humor and tend to integrate various therapy models. We take a person-centered approach and utilize each client's strength to help them make progress and find greater peace in their lives.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

In the beginning, we like to see clients on a weekly basis, if possible, to get to know the client, understand their history, and make a solid plan. As symptoms decrease or progress on the plan seems to be happening, we tend to decrease sessions to twice a month and then less, as needed. Some clients are high-functioning overall, but like to come in once a month, for example, for a "check-up" with their therapist to address any current issues and/or to maintain their progress. We tailor our treatment plans to each client's needs and can be flexible with regard to frequency, time of day, and even modality in some cases (in person vs video).
