My Approach to Helping
My name is Kelly Hays, an LCSW-S (Licensed Clinical Social Worker: Supervisor) in the State of Texas in Social Work since 1989 after graduation from Our Lady of the Lake University of San Antonio, TX. Navy (Hospital Corpsman) and Army (Social Work Officer) veteran: I have worked for 30 years in Family Advocacy and Hospice. I've also worked in Outpatient Mental Health, Juvenile Probation Centers, inpatient mental health, Physical Rehabilitation, and Veteran Services. I’ve served as a "Life-After-Loss" facilitator for the American Cancer Society as well as a "Stephen-Ministry Leader" in two Lutheran congregations in the past. I’ve also taught for "Park University" (Sociology) and UTSA. (Social Work) and St. Philips College (Medical Terminology) previously. I am also a social work supervisor for those seeking LCSW licensure in the State of Texas.
I have a wide range of skills and experience in therapy, including CBT, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, and ART. As a professional, I'm a member of CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention-DeficitHyperactivity Disorder), the National Association of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapists, and the National Association of Social Workers.
