My Approach to Helping
I welcome you to experience therapy from a holistic approach.
What I like the most about how flexible mental health can be is that I am able to walk alongside my clients in real-time and provide support in ways that best suit my clients. I love how innovative, individualized, and specific therapy can be in addition to being versatile.
Determining goals of therapy is an important factor of therapy that should be established early in the therapeutic relationship. I allow my clients to give an overview of what they want to address in therapy through the use of intake questionnaire paperwork. The client and I are usually able to set a pretty good idea of what things are most important to focus on while discussing the questionnaire during the first session. I usually re-evaluate therapeutic goals with the client to ensure that we are still moving forward and are in sync with the initial goals set. Sometimes these goals change as we continue working together and other times they may need to be refined or re-addressed.
My personality greatly influences my therapeutic approach, a well-rounded and holistic approach. I walk alongside my clients and allow them to process at the pace that is most comfortable and beneficial to the specific individual and their goals. However, I also include therapeutic support with safe movement toward confronting re-occurring negative themes that pose as a barrier to therapeutic goals. By doing this, my clients are able to experience a sense of mental and emotional balance directly modeled in the therapeutic session. This in turn provides perspective and my clients are able to see how to apply balance in their everyday lives.
