My Approach to Helping
That fake smile is exhausting, and you’re sick of pretending that everything’s fine. On the surface, it seems like you have it all together. But all too often, you’re counting the hours until you get to pull the covers back over your head. I’ve been there, and I get it.
Through my own experience in therapy, I learned the secret to feeling better. It happened when my therapist supported me in identifying the one tiny step I could take to start to steer things in another direction. It’s incredible how hope begins to come back when you have even a micro-success with the simplest of tasks. It’s what inspired me to dedicate my life to helping other people find and take that same tiny step in a new direction.
My Ph.D. is in clinical and health psychology, but I learned much more in my 15 years since graduation, during which I had the honor to walk alongside men and women brave enough to take those steps. There is no “right” or “wrong” in my book; in between sessions, you’ll be experimenting with new ways of navigating life. We will CELEBRATE when things don’t work out the way we planned, as that will give us more information to adjust and recalibrate to continue the experiment.
If you are looking for a practical, no-nonsense approach to therapy, we could be a good fit. Although some of my clients have been with me for years, as there are always new layers to uncover, my goal is to give you the confidence and momentum to continue independently once you’re taking more and more of those steps on your own. Let’s connect to start the conversation.
