My Approach to Helping

I practice person-centered therapy, and specialize in trauma, depression, anxiety, military and veterans issues, and life transitions. I have a background and training in evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), though I use an eclectic and collaborative approach that builds upon a strong therapeutic relationship. I see you as the expert on your own life, and use therapy to build upon your innate insight and knowledge.

I am passionate about working with trauma survivors. The effects of trauma are long-lasting, and can make daily life feel very difficult. I believe it is possible to cope with these effects in a healthy way that does not get in the way of achieving your goals or living out your values. I aim to help survivors feel safe, gain new skills, and find healthy meaning in their experiences.

I was raised in a military family. I moved every few years, and have a keen understanding of veteran and military issues, as well as the challenges of life transitions. I am solution-focused, and excited to help you achieve your goals.

More Info About My Practice

I accept BCBS PPO insurance or self-pay. I am also happy to provide an itemized bill for out of network reimbursement.

I have Saturday availability for clients who are not able to be seen during traditional business hours.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have significant training and experience working with survivors of military, interpersonal, and sexual traumas. I practice a therapeutic approach that prioritizes restoring a sense of safety, control, and choice to survivors.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

I focus my work on helping you achieve YOUR goals. The first few sessions will be spent getting to know you and understand what you want to accomplish through the therapeutic process. I will always be honest with you in therapy about what I can and cannot do, as well as what I recommend or don't recommend, and never force you to engage in a type of therapy or intervention that you are not open to.
