My approach is very warm, interactive, and holistic. I see each person as a unique expression of the Creator, and worthy of the support needed to live up to their potential. I work with the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of a person, so that they can get to the root of their struggles.

When working with couples, I use a dialogical emotionally-based approach. I see conflict as connection trying to happen, and teach clients how to handle conflict masterfully.

There is a great deal of psych-education in my practice, and I often give clients handouts to support them between sessions.

I have been a therapist for nearly 30 years, and I continue to be passionate about my work, and deeply interested in people. Watching a client make real change still brings me such joy, because I truly believe we are on earth to be fulfilled, happy, and to make a positive difference.

More Info About My Practice

After so many years as a psychotherapist, I have gathered some very powerful tools that help facilitate and expedite transformation. Brainspotting () is a tool based on interpersonal neuro-biology and can be used to uncover, release and heal trauma.

Biofield tuning () is a very powerful method where tuning forks are used in the bio-magnetic field around the body to break up the charges held from past events that have created emotional distress or trauma.
I am also a psychodramatist, and often use role-play to help clients by-pass the mind and dive more deeply into their emotions.

The greatest tool I carry, in addition to my skill, is my compassion.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

I only use diagnostic codes so that people can get reimbursed. In truth, diagnoses were created my mostly older Caucasian men based on what made them feel uncomfortable. Homosexuality was considered a pathological "mental disorder" until 1987!

People are unique, and deserve to be heard, seen and understood for who they are--and often a label gets in the way. Whether it is "mental illness," addictions, perversions----these are all misguided attempts to gain comfort or love.

It is important for a psychotherapist to be skillful and understand the many disorders, but the capacity to deeply care trumps intellectual knowledge any day!
