My Approach to Helping
As a therapist I am warm, empathetic, and interactive. My focus is to work with clients to stabilize their presenting problems, relieve symptoms, assist them in building their strengths and support systems, and to gain a deeper understanding of themselves. I feel it is important to offer support, practical feedback, and tools to help them achieve their goals. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy because they are brief, practical, and collaborative.

My Therapy Focus
My interests and specializations include Women's Mental Health: working with pregnant and postpartum women who are struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, transition to parenthood issues, birth related trauma/difficult births, concerns about bonding and attachment, fear and anxiety about an upcoming birth and perinatal loss. Relationship issues between spouses, especially during the childbearing and childrearing years. I do work with parents and families on improving relationship dynamics in the household, boundary setting and parent education. I also work with adolescents on improving positive peer relations and managing stress and anxiety.
