My Approach to Helping

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship with a client is a key component to successful therapy. My goal is to foster such connections through empathy, trust, and compassion. This lays the foundation for working collaboratively in addressing issues of concern. My therapeutic approach draws from evidenced-based practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

I work with adults and seniors, some of whom may be experiencing a significant life transition, while others may be managing acute or chronic symptoms that have affected their quality of life. Together, we identify positive coping skills and individual strengths to help manage internal and external stressors.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

Specific issues with which I often work include the following:

Eating disorders
Chronic illness
Significant life transitions
Multicultural and gender identity

There are also times when individuals may just feel the need to process an event or gain insight into a personal matter. Psychotherapy can be beneficial in a wide range of situations. As a therapist, I am honored to be a part of one's self-discovery process.
