My Approach to Helping
People often wonder why they feel the way they do or why the desired change is so difficult to achieve. The first step in creating meaningful change is to acknowledge that you want something different and that you may need help making that happen. I want to help you identify the patterns in your life that contribute to problems and help you learn new ways to address them. I work with a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and issues related to addiction. I have experience working with all age groups including 65+. I have knowledge of the 12-step process and have worked with individuals struggling with spirituality higher-power.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative. I am trained in Gestalt therapy which is helpful in learning to identify emotions and patterns of behavior that lie at the root of many problems. I work from an inclusive and multicultural perspective and I tailor treatment to fit each individual.
