My Approach to Helping
I am practical, results oriented, and efficient, with the aim to help my clients make changes and feel better as quickly as possible. I use empirically validated treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness techniques in my practice. I offer my clients a therapy situation that includes a focus on understanding the past contributions to their current struggles, support and encouragement to improve stress reduction and self care behaviors, and education about the common dynamics of mental health and dysfunction as they occur in people individually and in family systems. My main areas of focus include anxiety, trauma, work and relationship stress, assertiveness, and work life balance. I also have a speciality area of travel anxiety including fear of flying.
