My Approach to Helping
Do anxiety and fear keep you from doing what you want to do or need to do? Are you too anxious to speak up at work, or to make new friends?
Even if you are smart and capable, negative mind chatter can wreak havoc with your self confidence.
There is hope and help. I love working with anxious young men and women, helping them find the courage and confidence to go after what they want in life.
My method of helping is to use mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, integrating it with other approaches, to individually tailor it to your needs.
We would work together in a very collaborative way, with me presenting various skills and strategies as options, based on your particular needs, and you deciding which strategies would fit best.
For example, instead of "assigning homework," together we would explore possible action steps you could take between sessions to help you reach your goals.

Anxiety Taming Workshops are offered from time to time. Strategies are presented in a small group, so there is time to tailor the strategies to individual needs of participants.
The workshops can provide an affordable way to get support for your self-help strategies, if you are not ready for individual therapy.
I work with anxious young men and women learning to navigate the challenges of the adult world. I also work with adults of all ages who are struggling with various life transitions.
How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
When I was younger, there was a time that I struggled with panic attacks. I still remember how frightening that was, and have a great deal of empathy for anyone struggling with anxiety.
It was an older therapist who helped me find my way. As an older therapist now myself, i enjoy "paying it forward" to young adults who are struggling with anxiety or panic.
What I bring to the table is empathy for your struggle, and the memory of how hard it was.
