My Approach to Helping
I have a lot of experience and enjoy working with young adults with self-esteem problems, relationship issues, and difficulty finding direction in their lives. Growing up in NYC and then transiting to NC, I am keenly aware of adaptation issues. My personal experience as a child survivor of trauma has sensitized me to sexual, physical, and mental health abuse cases to transformation, courage, and perseverance. I especially liked the aspect of today’s outlook on life, which provides possibility and flexibility in life choices. I also treat children and adults survivors of childhood trauma through a DBT, psychodynamic, and CBT Trauma focus approach. I specialize in adolescent issues, disruptive mood disorders, anger management, and depression and anxiety. My goal is to help change the attitudes and perceptions of parents and adolescents, thus changing their behavior.
