My Approach to Helping
"A failure is not a mistake, it may simply be the best one can do under the circumstances. The real mistake is to stop trying." BF Skinner, Addiction can feel like an endless cycle of personal failures, yet addiction is a medical condition. It's complex and often misunderstood by family and friends. Fear, confusion, and sadness can take up residence in your life. Untangling addiction from other mental health issues can feel daunting. We can develop a formidable team, working to develop your path from addiction to recovery. Together we will work toward creating your new normal.
My role is to support your courage as you challenge yourself. We can learn about what you're feeling, why you might be feeling it, and how to cope differently. Even if you are not looking at your trauma, it is taking up space in your world. Therapy can offer new ways to relate to yourself.
My therapeutic style is approachable, compassionate, honest, and direct. Privacy and discretion are a priority at Affinity Counseling. We offer a space filled with expertise, kindness, and hope. Therapy is an investment in yourself. Change is already here; you are seeking out a therapist! We look forward to working with you!
