My Approach to Helping
Positive healthy change occurs within a nonjudgmental safe setting where individuals and families can explore current and past issues. I offer a supportive setting for exploration and practical feedback to address life's challenges. Therapeutic approaches utilized include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness-based brief treatment. These approaches offer skill-based services to assist individuals and families in improving relationships and increasing understanding.
My clinical focus includes emerging adults, adolescents, couples/families, individuals and first responders. I truly enjoy assisting others to gain insight and make positive effective change for continued success. I have previous experience working within community and hospital settings as well as community mental health services. I have worked with several police departments to assist their community members with linkage to services for crisis situations.
I am an engaged, solution-focused therapist and believe that we can make positive changes. With compassion, kindness and sometimes humor, I can assist in building strengths, growth and implementing positive change for a healthier life.
