My Approach to Helping

"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust

I believe that every individual has their own unique capacity to learn and seek new ways to keep living, to achieve their innermost and fullest potential that they want to be. Each person can move towards who they want to be by learning new skills to enable and empower themselves. Hence, the quote by Proust, it could be the same challenging situation and environment, however, with new skills and perspectives, it'll surely lead to new ways to addressing the obstacles towards one's desired goal(s) in life.

The paradox, however, is that the more dependent we are the more likely we can be independent. The more we are a part of our family, our friends, and our loved ones, the more adventurous and independent we can become. When we are willing to risk ourselves to become more vulnerable we are also taking a courageous step forward in the presence of fear.

You will experience all the love that you deserve.

Not the familiar pain. not the familiar abuse. not the familiar invalidity.

But to experience you.
Experience you.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Many people find it difficult to approach therapy, as it is such a private, personal process of discovering our inner fears about ourselves. The most common feedback I received is, "What if I found something that I didn't want to know about myself?"

My answer to that is, we are going to be continuously discovering ourselves each breath we take. However, it gets harder and harder not because life gets tougher. It gets harder because we are referring to knowledge of ourselves some years ago that we did not update our new checkpoints of ourselves.

Therefore, the process of therapy is crucial to enable the fluidity and possibility of growth in our brains (literally as in neuroplasticity) to integrate new skills and updating ourselves each day, fine-tuning what we want to be, what can we do, and how we can continually achieve our goals as we continue to live, so that we can age gracefully.
