More Info About My Practice
I believe that healing occurs when we become aware of our issues, increase our insight and learn how to put alternative coping strategies into practice. I use traditional methodology as well as creative activities, such as guided meditation, relaxation techniques and humor. My approach is strength-based, using a person's natural skills, talents and abilities in the service of their own healing. It is a respectful, positive approach designed to support an individual's journey toward balance.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
The duration and frequency of therapy varies largely from person to person depending on the nature of the primary challenge and the severity of emotional distress. Some prefer to come on a weekly basis and others prefer to schedule as needed. I use a collaborative approach to help individuals determine how often they wish to attend therapy. It may be helpful to know that even after people feel better and decide to end their sessions, it is fairly common to check back in for maintenance sessions. Ultimately, you will have the flexibility and the final say when it comes to your therapy.
