My Approach to Helping
Teenagers and young adults struggle with a wide array of challenges. I teach teens valuable skills that help them navigate their internal experience (ie. thoughts, feelings, and values) so they are better equipped and empowered to navigate their outer experience (ie. relationships, school, and work). Counseling with me can help teens and young adults build their confidence, bounce back from setbacks, focus on their goals, manage stress, and foster healthy relationships. For teenagers under 18, parentsguardians are contacted at least once a month in effort to reinforce skills learned in sessions and to gauge progress.
Similar to my approach with teens and young adults, I take on a more coach role with men. Often, men appreciate tools and a no b.s. approach. I like men to think of me as a mental personal trainer, rather than a traditional therapist. I support men with the following: marriage support, anxiety, anger, and stress management.
Aside from working with teens and men, I work with issues related to stressand anxiety to help my clients identify and overcome the challenges unique to their situation.
Clients commonly report that our sessions help them understand their challenges better, and provide them with the skills needed to overcome those challenges. I conduct therapy sessions via video conference; online therapy is both effective and convenient. Take a look at my website, and feel free to contact me if my specialities resonate with you.
