My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #105413) in the state of California with a Master’s Degree in Social Work from UCLA.
Life can be messy, transitions can be daunting, stress can be overwhelming, and barriers can block our personal breakthroughs. I am passionate about patiently and empathetically walking individuals through the ups and downs of life with customized paths of healing, recovery, and self-discovery. Feeling “stuck” is not a weakness, but rather an opportunity for self-exploration to gain the insight needed to live life authentically and to its fullest. I bring warmth and acceptance to every session and am committed to building trust with each individual who takes that brave step to engage in a transformative process.
I hold a diverse skill set based on my experience as an Emergency Response Social Worker in the Department of Children and Family Services and have worked among high-risk situations that require crisis intervention and trauma-focused work.
My therapeutic specialties include working with clients struggling with self-esteem issues that impact identity, relational issues, codependency, stress responses, anxiety, and depression. I also specialize in Christianfaith-based counseling and life transitions. A core belief of mine is that every person’s story is powerful and every personal struggle deserves the time, attention, and space for greater breakthrough and clarity.
My therapeutic approach is strengths-based, person-centered, and focuses on empowering clients to be the expert of their own narrative and the dictator of their desired life script. With this, I enjoy integrating therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, family systems approach, and empowerment models which focus on reconstructing destructive mindsets, replacing unhealthy coping mechanisms, and reforming stress responses.
Just as life can be messy, so can emotions. Painful moments or struggles can in fact produce the most beautiful breakthroughs. With this, I view it as an honor and privilege to hold space for all expressions of emotions, whether those emotions include anger, sadness, grief, bitterness, resentment, hopelessness, or confusion. Every response, emotion, opinion, thought process is welcomed and embraced to further the journey of healing and recreate life changes that are desired.
