My Approach to Helping
We have to go deeper than just talking about what's wrong in order to effect real change in ourselves. Neuroscience tells us that over 80% of what we do, think, and feel is out of our conscious awareness. My methods are experiential, mindfulness-based, body-centered, and informed by attachment and interpersonal neurobiology research.
I work with adults and adolescents both individually and in couple therapy. I utilize an eclectic approach mixing evidence-based core-level modalities such as Hakomi, Internal Family Systems, EMDR and PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy). I help people heal the core of their issues by going beneath normal conversation and getting into the deeper layers of self. Current research shows that mindfulness and somatic (body oriented) approaches effect more lasting change when compared with regular talk therapy.
I have helped a lot of everyday people, trauma survivors and couples over the years. If you want lasting change in your life, and you are tired of the same ole talk therapy, give me a call and we'll set up a free in-person initial consultation.
