I provide mental health services primarily for LGBTQ+ individuals and those struggling with codependency. However, people seek therapy for a variety of reasons. There might be hurt or confusion from the past that is now causing you problems in the present such as low self-confidence, self-harm, substance abuse, sleep issues or suicidal thoughts. It could be that you are dealing with depression or anxiety that will not seem to let up. Or maybe you are not getting your needs met in your relationship.

No matter what you are dealing with, therapy provides you with an opportunity for healing. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial to successful treatment. I am committed to establishing a relationship with you that is based on non-judgment, trust, and safety so we can work towards your goals effectively.

You can expect open communication, respect, honesty, and acceptance in each session with me. It is very important to find the right therapist, so if we are not an ideal fit for each other, I will refer you to a new therapist who may be a better fit for your needs.

More Info About My Practice

My practice is supervised by Leslie Anderson, Ph.D., LP (MO# 2004024714).

My Role as a Therapist

Pema Chodron says it well, "Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It's a relationship between equals. Only when we know our own darkness well, can we be present with the darkness of others. Compassion becomes real when we recognize our shared humanity."

My work is guided by a deep appreciation of the uniqueness of my clients. I am much less concerned about labels and diagnosis, as I am about getting to know you as a human being and making sense of how your experiences have brought you to this point.

Additionally, I have training and experience in the areas of substance abuse, codependency, spirituality, and mindfulness. I am also deeply committed to advocating for and supporting LGBTQ individuals.
