My Approach to Helping

I specialize in helping people who are going through major transitions and difficult life phases that are causing symptoms of anxiety, feelings of depression, general dissatisfaction, or relationship conflict.

Are you having difficulty adjusting to the end of a relationship or working through problems in your partnership? Have you suffered a loss from which you are having difficulty recovering? Feeling anxious about job changes, starting school, or a new role in your life? I am here to help you cope with the current challenges you are facing and facilitate the changes that you would like to make in your life. I can also help you to increase self-knowledge, improve your overall functioning, and increase your life satisfaction.

I am flexible in using an approach suited to the individual client, whether that is cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, psychodynamic, or relational therapy. I provide long-term treatment, short-term goal-directed therapy, and single sessions for consultation and assistance in problem solving on a particular issue.

More Info About My Practice

I have been a psychologist for 19 years.

My full fee is $200 per 50min individual session. I also offer a sliding scale fee that is based on a client's personal financial situation, the mode of treatment requested, frequency of attendance, whether the client is using PPO insurance for partial reimbursement, and availability of sliding scale spots.

I provide monthly statements for clients who have PPOs and are able to see "out of network" clinicians. Clients then submit the statements to their insurance provider for reimbursement (amount depending on their plan). If you plan to use your PPO, check with your insurance provider ahead of time to confirm that you are permitted to see an "out of network" clinician and the percentage of your reimbursement.

I accept Medicare Primary, which means Medicare is the primaryfirst payer, even if there is a supplemental plan. However, if an HMO is primary to Medicare or you have both Medicare and Medicaid, I am unable to provide services. Please check with your insurance to verify that you have a Medicare Primary plan.

I provide a free 15 minute phone consultation, so you are welcome call with any questions you might have and to discuss whether I can assist you with your problem, concerns, or life goals. Please leave a brief message regarding the issue you would like to work on and I will call you back shortly (typically within 24 hours).
