My Approach to Helping

How we feel, what we think, and how we act are all connected and influenced by the world around us. Our relationships, occupation, environment, culture, and lifestyle choices impact how we live our lives. There is a lot of judgement and hate in the world which can make it difficult to see all of the good that is out there too. While I understand the struggles and hardships of this life, I aim to find the silver lining in every situation and enjoy highlighting my clients' positive traits.

I believe in the power of positivity, unconditional positive regard, and acceptance for people from all walks of life. My past work includes spreading awareness for the importance of mental health to remove historical stigma against those seeking help for their mental health concerns. I am open about my own struggles and successes with disordered eating, depression, and anxiety with the hope my personal experiences will allow me to express genuine empathy and understanding for my clients.

I am deeply passionate about acceptance and fighting for equality among races, genders, socioeconomic statuses, and sexual orientations. I actively evaluate my own privilege and continuously challenge myself to expand my cultural competencies. I am sex positive and maintain an open, accepting environment for clients to express their individual kinks, quirks, and lifestyles.

More Info About My Practice

I strive to create a supportive and welcoming environment where clients feel safe, comfortable, and accepted. You may have a goal in mind, even if that goal is to simply feel "better." I collaborate with clients to tailor their sessions based on their needs, feedback, and goals. Together, we'll explore and discover the most beneficial approach for your individualized care. You are the expert on your own life, and I hope to be a source of guidance and support along your journey.

My Therapy Focus

My training and experiences focus primarily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused models. I frequently incorporate and teach mindfulness training in sessions. My education is specialized in Sport, Performance, and Health Psychology, which highlights healthy lifestyles, athletic performance, goal achievement, teamwork and collaboration, recovery from injury or surgery, and mental toughness. We'll address how you're feeling now, explore worries about the future, and process events of the past to help you feel more balanced in the present.
