My Approach to Helping
Have you wondered if therapy can be helpful to you? I offer a free consultation to discuss any questions you may have. You can talk to me about anything; nothing you tell me will shock or surprise me. I can help you work through your difficulties and feel better in the process, and also help you become your own therapist by learning how to better deal with the challenges that come up in your life. I specialize in anxiety, depression, parenting issues, relationship, and body imageeating issues. Therapy can be short-term or long-term, depending on the reason for coming to therapy. Therapy can address a very specific problem or it can address long standing issue or a client's desire for personal and professional development. This is something we can address together in our initial meetings. You can learn more about my practice on my website or calling my office.
More Info About My Practice
For many, making the decision to see a therapist is difficult. My goal is to make this process as comfortable as I can. When you call, you will speak with me personally. We may talk on the phone or by e-mail to explain the process. During our first meeting, I will get to know you and begin to understand how I can help you achieve your goals. My practice is in a private, confidential, therapeutic setting. My practice is modeled in the style of an 'old-time' family practitioner, with the goal of getting to know you beyond presenting issue taking into account family, work, and financial constraints. I will customize therapy to best suit your needs, and will ultimately help you to become your own therapist by learning how to better deal with the challenges that come up in your life. Our practice submits all the paperwork to your insurance provider so you do not have to wait for reimbursement. We can also verify you insurance benefits in advance. We are happy to assist in any way to make the process easy for you.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
The process of psychotherapy is different for each individual. But a commonality is that the therapeutic process is a journey toward increased awareness, insight, and a better quality of life. In my view, it is also a process of self-discovery: of ones potentials, strengths, and innate ability to heal. Whatever you and I may do session-to-session, our ultimate goal is to foster growth and change, leading to you feeling more comfortable and productive in your life.
