What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
People come to me at some of the most difficult times in their lives. Maybe they are hurting, scared, grieving. Maybe life has just gotten too overwhelming. Whatever the reason, my clients entrust me with some of the most difficult experiences they have faced. I've heard so many times something like, "I've never told anyone". Yet here they are, trusting that I will listen, will not judge, and will work hard with them to try and find solutions that work. It is truly a privilege to be a small part of someone's healing journey, and to see them begin to use that inner strength that was there all along to move toward the life they really want to be living.
My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to be that safe person, who will truly listen and try to understand where you're stuck. I help clients find their own strengths and develop the plan that will work the best for them to truly begin their unique healing processes. When you confide in me, you can expect no judgment, no well-meaning but unwanted statements as to how you "should" be living your life. Instead, we work together to uncover the real you, and you begin the process of becoming the person you truly want to be.
