My Approach to Helping
You\'ve come up against something in your life, something that is too tough to get past on your own. Family tries to help...or maybe they don\'t. Friends try to understand....but maybe they just can\'t. You feel so alone in what you\'re going through, so stuck where you\'re at, and so hopeless that things will ever get better.
You\'ve come to the right place. I strive to provide a safe, caring and nonjudgmental environment where you can say those things you haven\'t said, feel those things nobody understands, and be who you are. I will get to know you, and only then will we move on to finding the right tools to help you get unstuck. With over 10 years experience in working with individuals with a variety of concerns, I have learned that a one size fits all approach is destined to fail. So, I draw from a variety of therapy approaches, including cognitivebehavioral, family systems and narrative approaches, all while keeping in mind your own unique needs, preferences, etc.
As a person with a disability, I am devoted tohelping those who are impacted, either directly or indirectly, by a disability or chronic illness. However, I also have a passion for helping with those who struggle with depression and trauma. If you\'re a parent who is struggling with parenting concerns, my extensive background in helping parents find workable realistic solution to these problems can change your day-to-day struggles as well.
I provide a free consultation, so you have nothing to lose. Contact me and we will see if I might be the right therapist for you.
