My Approach to Helping
I believe in the power of change, and I believe in the power of well-being. I can help you tap into your innermost strengths so that you can better manage your mental and emotional health. I have tools and techniques that can help you embrace change and live the good life.
"When well-being comes from engaging our strengths and virtues, our lives are imbued with authenticity." Each one of us has natural strengths and virtues that can help us live a life of meaning and purpose. I can help help you recognize and utilize your strengths and virtues so that you can find solutions to the very real problems that beset you. As we journey together to help you understand the very real positives of change, your authentic self can be manifest. I am a positive psychology oriented counselor trained to help you learn to use your strengths to change. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, as well as other cognitive-behavioral approaches to help you on your journey.
The 10 Principles of Recovery are used to help those who also struggle with substance use disorders. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy is a powerful tool to help heal your brain, free you from the burden of your thoughts, and allow your heart to feel again.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
I believe that each of us wants to live authentically. I believe that each of us is capable of change, and that through recognizing our personal strengths of character, we can unlock the change that we want to make. There is power in leaning into your strengths. Rather than focusing on what is "wrong" with you so we can "fix" it, we are going to highlight the good and help you to grow.
My Therapy Focus
One option I am able to provide for you is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic-a medication that produces a temporary sense of disconnection between mind and body, and from ones normal reality, memory, and sense of identity. Ketamine has been shown to be particularly effective with chronic mood disorders, pain, and other mental health conditions which can be severe, recurring, disabling, and even life-threatening. In the last twenty years, ketamine has been used as an accessory in some severe and treatment-resistant conditions not successfully treated by other modalities or drugs, including depression, severe anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, suicidal ideation, and other psychiatric diagnoses (Rodrigues et al., 2013).
Both psychotherapy and ketamine are effective in helping with mood disorders and pain, but the combination of the two has been shown to be much more effective than either on its own. Our program emphasizes the potential for change and the creation of new neuropathways which can facilitate change quickly. Our experience suggests that the administration of ketamine is most effective when paired with psychotherapy. We offer a psychotherapy program which will 1) explore limiting thought patterns and conditions which may be keeping you stuck 2) prepare you for your ketamine sessions including answering any questions or concerns you may have 3) guide you through your ketamine session and 4) assist you in exploring and integrating your experiences afterwards.
Feel free to ask me any questions about Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy. Let's work together to see if this treatment is right for you.
