My Approach to Helping
Therapy can be a transformative process when we're able to make time to focus on the relationships we have with ourselves. I predominantly work from a relational-based model of therapy where our work is rooted in showing up to therapy without the expectations or demands present in a myriad of relationships we engage in. It's in this space of acceptance and nonjudgement that we can start working on identifying the roadblocks in life that prevent us from being able to live authentically in a way that feels true to who we are.
Compassion, empathy, and connection are key to the work that we'll embark on in this space that's created by you and me. Whether you may stand to benefit from a cognitive behavioral therapy approach, solution-focused, or psychodynamic approach (among others) will be decided by us collaboratively in the interest of transparency and strengthening our partnership. I am humbled by the privilege I hold in working with the wonderful people that I do, and I strive to bring this humility to each session that we engage in.
