My wife Barbara Carroll, M.A, and I work together with the experience that people have the inherent ability to heal. And that couples who are deeply motivated to enjoy love can find and maintain that in their relationship. We've found that the key to individual therapy is helping a person open their heart to themselves, and the key to couples therapy is helping partners open their hearts to each other. Together we have created a 4-step CODE for joyful lasting relationships and we are also completing a book about the CODE.

Our task is both to provide a great sense of safety and to be highly pro-active and pragmatic. This allows clients to develop a strong sense of trust and in turn to overcome obstacles, move forward, and make significant changes. While we have trained in numerous therapeutic approaches, our experience is that genuine warmth, authenticity, respect and active engagement with the individual or couple offers the greatest likelihood of change or transformation. We approach each person or couple creatively and proactively. What we do together is a collaboration - taking advantage of our intuition, experience, and skills while honoring your very specific needs and character. For us, therapy is a passion, an outgrowth of living as consciously and fully as possible, and of maintaining over many decades an enriching marriage.

More Info About My Practice

For clients with a PPO (out of network) insurance policy, we can provide you with an invoice to submit to your insurance company to determine the scope of coverage. We ask for payment at time of service. For extended therapy, we can accept the co-payment and wait for the insurance payment.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

We are especially adept at assisting individuals and couples in improving their relationship skills - and in helping people open their hearts to each other for more fulfilling relationships.
