My Approach to Helping
Our goal in therapy is for me to provide you with evidenced based therapy tools to help you overcome struggles that life sometimes brings. Through the guided use of these therapy tools it would be our goal to restore you back to a path towards wellness. Our therapy goals will be mutually determined based on your individual clinical needs during the initial clinical evaluation. Through practice of these therapy tools in sessions and between sessions you will notice a gradual change towards wellness. It is my goal to teach you these therapy tools and strengthen your belief in your ability to use them so that you can progress in therapy and achieve positive outcomes in your life. Through the use of these therapy tools such as thought challenging, engaging in positive behaviors, gradually facing fears, and preventing relapse, I believe you will be able to successfully journey down a path of wellness. I also provide psychological testing to determine the correct diagnosis and to assist in treatment recommendations.

Initial visit (75-90 minutes): Talk-based $350.00
Individual therapy session (45 minutes): Talk-based $195.00
Psychological Assessment (billed per hour): $190.00

My Role as a Therapist
My role as a therapist is to guide down the path of wellness. This includes with providing you with evidenced based proven therapy tools for you to practice in session and between sessions. I look at the whole person in therapy: biological, physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual/cultural. Therapy is a joint venture and upon the completion of the initial clinical evaluation we determined therapy goals that best fit your clinical needs. Throughout therapy we review your progress towards these goals, discuss challenges, and encourage your belief in the effectiveness of practicing the therapy tools. During the process of therapy I will ask for feedback from you on how you are doing and what I can do to better help you in your path towards wellness. I specialize in teaching evidenced based therapy tools such as thought challenging, building a healthy self-esteem, mood regulation, managing emotions, relaxation skills, positive behaviors to engage in to uplift your mood, gradually facing your fears and overcoming them, and preventing relapse. I look forward to working with you and guiding you down the path of wellness.
My Therapy Focus
My therapy focus is based on your individual clinical needs based on the initial clinical evaluation. The progress of these therapy goals is reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the duration of therapy.
I practice cognitive behavioral therapy which teaches ways you can challenge negative thoughts and engage in positive behaviors to change your mood. I also practice exposure therapy in which you gradually face feared situations and decrease your anxiety towards them. I emphasize the importance of my unconditional positive regard towards you and provide you with empathy and understanding throughout your journey towards wellness. These are key concepts of client centered therapy. Additionally, I teach mindfulness techniques which help you relax and stay in the moment.
For couples therapy I discuss how the emotions of each partner influence one another. This is done in emotion focused couples therapy. I also use John Gottman's techniques. John Gottman is a well known psychologist and couples therapist that teaches principles of sustaining a healthy relationship through healthy communication, nurturing fondness, admiration, and understanding, manage conflict and build trust and commitment.
For family therapy I use family systems therapy that focuses on repairing communication and the roles of individuals in the family system, so that the entire family system can be mutually cohesive. Through these techniques my therapy focus is on guiding you to wellness.
