My Approach to Helping
As a Clinical Psychologist and Christian pastoral counselor, I work with people of Faith - in particular Christians - as well as those not religious or committed to a particular faith tradition. I am trained as a behavioral and cognitive-behavioral therapist, as well as in motivational interviewing/enhancement, and EMDR, working in the areas of stress, anxiety and depression, including those with trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), addictive behavior (alcohol, drug, smoking), as well as relationship issues and marital/couples conflict. In addition, I have served on the faculties of different universities and medical schools, specializing in the area of behavioral medicine and health psychology, health promotion, and disease (risk factor) modification. Finally, I help those struggling in, or seeking help and focus in the development of general personal, and spiritual, purpose and life direction.
