My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a specialty in working with Latinoa individuals and families from Pacific Oaks College of California. I am fluently bilingual in Spanish and English while maintaining a strong connection to my Native American roots. It’s been my privilege to experience over 20 years of serving in community-based, private practice, and school-based mental health settings within the Central Valley and overseas military installations in Asia and Europe.
My passion lies in working with adults, children, and families from diverse populations to learn the necessary coping skills while facing difficult challenges during periods of adjustments and transitions. My specialty areas include trauma, depression, anxiety, stress management, first responder burnout, family issues, parenting, and life management. I rely on holistic approaches to therapy with client-centered perspectives, focusing on empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. My aim is to highlight strengths and create opportunities for growth.
I have extensive experience working with teens, adults, and families, utilizing interventions from cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based approaches, and mindfulness practices.
Holistic approaches have a sensitivity to spirituality, religion, and cultural strengths and challenges specific to each family and individual.
